The club collaborate in the social initiative
In northern Jordan, nearly 950 boys and girls participate in LaLiga Za'atari, representing teams from LaLiga Santander, LaLiga SmartBank and Primera Iberdrola. Some of these children will proudly wear their blue and white shirts, since RCD Espanyol are one of the those involved in the LaLiga | Za'atari Social Project run by LaLiga, through its Foundation and Sports Projects area, and in collaboration with the AFDP Global (Asian Football Development Project).
Recently, different kits were raffled off and delivered to the teams that will participate in the program during this season. It will be used by a total of 32 teams: 16 male (Under-12s) and 16 women's (Under-14s and Under-17s), with more than 350 children participating.
Each of the refugee camp districts is twinned with one of the 33 clubs from the LaLiga Santander, LaLiga SmartBank and Primera Iberdrola divisions who have collaborated with this initiative. The project seeks to use football as an educational tool that also promotes fundamental values and habits to improve the quality of life of the population of Za'atari, and especially its young boys and girls.
