OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Always united, 'la força d'un sentiment'
As a result of the negotiations which began a few weeks ago, an agreement has been reached with the members of the RCD Espanyol senior team; players and coaching staff. The main milestones of this agreement are:
- 19% reduction of annual salary in the event that the 19/20 season is unable to start again.
- 4% reduction of annual salary in the event that the 19/20 season ends through the dispute of the remaining 11 days.
- Supplement the salary of those with lower incomes affected by the layoffs; the women's first team, Juveniles A and B and almost all members of Espanyol B.
- All those with contracts ending on June 30, 2020 have accepted an extension until the effective end of the 19/20 season.
The club's management appreciates the efforts and solidarity of the members of the first team and coaching staff; firstly, supporting RCD Espanyol at such a complex time; and secondly, for their support of the rest of those affected, directly contributing to recovering the payments lost through layoffs.
We'd also like to highlight the union and determination of our first team since the beginning of this crisis. Some of our players have been infected with the disease and have been able to overcome it, and in other cases it's been people's family members, but this has not prevented them from showing their commitment to the club.
The entire team is training from home with guidelines managed remotely by coaching staff, showing great professionalism, so that we can go back to competing as soon as the necessary health and safety conditions are in place.
We thank all the club's employees for their work during these weeks, many of them working very hard, remotely and in difficult conditions, others providing minimal services at the RCDE Stadium and Ciudad Deportiva Dani Jarque. Thank you to all of you for helping us to keep going during this crisis.
During these weeks of confinement we are all dealing with difficult situations, whether personally or relating to our surroundings, and even so there have been multiple solidarity initiatives by many fans, groups and various parakeet collectives demonstrating the greatness and generosity of all those who are part of our espanyol family.
We are proud to be parakeets, proud of our first team and of all club employees. We are proud of our fans, together we will overcome all difficulties, together we will overcome this disease, together we will overcome any eventuality and, if they knock us down, we will get back up again together.
