Manolo González, new RCD Espanyol head coach
RCD Espanyol has decided that Manolo González, who until now was in charge of the B team, will take charge of the men’s first team until the end of the season.
González has been in management for over two decades after a serious injury forced him to retire from football. He took charge of Espanyol B at the beginning of the season and, after a tough start, has managed to bring the team to the edge of the fourth tier play-offs.
Luis Blanco, who was previously at thd white-and-blue Club for nine years until last summer, will return as the assistant coach. Manolo González will be presented as the new coach of RCD Espanyol this Wednesday – with the time to be confirmed - at the Stage Front Stadium.
