Luis Garcia: "The players gave everything"
The coach reacts to the 1-1 draw with Albacete BP
Luis García left the Carlos Belmonte with a bittersweet feeling about his team's showing against Albacete BP. The RCD Espanyol coach acknowledged the excellent performance during the first half, in which Los Pericos took the lead, but also pointed out that Albacete "were better in the second half."
"The heat is not an excuse. It is no coincidence that Albacete made it to the playoffs last year. The players gave everything and I am proud of them."
In a brief summary of the game, he pointed out that “in the first half we far superior, if we don't count the actions for the two penalties that were given against us. In those minutes we were playing well and we deserved a better scoreline, but after the break Albacete were better."
"We have sought to have more of a presence in attack, but they put a lot of players near our area and launched in many crosses. We defended almost all of their moves well, except for the equaliser."
