Lozano: "We have to perform at our best away from home"
The defender sets out the objective for the game against Alavés
Pol Lozano spoke in a press conference ahead of the meeting with Deportivo Alavés, which takes place on Saturday and is the chance to gain an advantage against a direct rival.
“This Saturday's game is very important for us. Winning this weekend would be like us making a statement, but we have to perform at our best away from home. It's a final and we have to win it,” he said.
The Catalan midfielder, who is in good form, insisted on the idea of improving away from home.
“We feel more secure at the RCDE Stadium, with our fans by our side, and we are braver. Away from home we are lacking a bit of that: believing in ourselves more. In some way, we have to get rid of that kind of fear away from home.”
He also stated that “I would not take a draw in Vitoria now. Winning would provide three points would give us life. Alavés are a direct rival, we know the importance of those points and we have to prepare accordingly. Away from home we have to get points, no matter what. Just with the points we take at our stadium alone, we can't do it.”
Of Alavés, he singled out that “they are a very strong defensive team, especially at their own ground, and they have great forwards who can win a match individually. Theirs is a stadium that puts a lot of pressure on you, and any player likes those places to get a win away.”
