Urko González: "We're going to take things game by game"
The RCD Espanyol player speaks with the media
Since his arrival in the winter transfer window, Urko González has become a key player for RCD Espanyol. His character and his work on the pitch have fit him perfectly into the group and made him appreciated by the fans, and he wants to continue to impress them through to the end of the season.
"I had a clear goal as soon as I arrived here. We're going to take things game by game. The coach asks us to give everything and show our personality," he told the media on Tuesday.
"The draw against Atletico Madrid at the RCDE Stadium was good, and the team's mind is set on getting points away from home now. That's the key. So in Vallecas, against Rayo Vallecano, we're going to give everything to try to come back with the three points. We have to have the same personality and fight like we do at home."
He also emphasised the need to focus on the short term, saying that "every game is the most important. We're going to fight until the end and we'll get our objective, for sure."
Of his own performances, he explained that "I was very clear that I had to earn my place in training, and I'm getting all the minutes any player would like. So I have to keep working hard to keep playing every week."
