"It was important to win again"
Vicente Moreno highlights that the team persisted and achieved a hard-fought victory
RCD Espanyol coach, Vicente Moreno, was satisfied with his team's victory against Real Zaragoza, and stressed that the three points were well-deserved. “It was important to win. We must congratulate the players, because after losing two games it gets harder, with nerves and the demand to win every week ... It was a very serious game: we persevered and we achieved a hard-fought victory”, Vicente Moreno said.
The coach commented that his team found "the prize" and that it clinched the game in the final minutes. “I think we could have achieved a better result. Real Zaragoza is a good team - a few months ago they were fighting to go up to the First Division, they have very good players, and no team has beaten them by more than one goal. It is a difficult team and the victory today was well deserved”, he declared.
Vicente Moreno commented that it was a “very special match, because the team had less than three days to prepare”, adding that “we didn't know what we'd find and we had many alternatives prepared. It has merit because it was carried out to perfection: this is what we are looking for. I think we have done well, the team persisted and we must congratulate them”.
