González: "Working hard is the formula to getting back to consistency"
The coach looks at the game against CA Osasuna
RCD Espanyol coach Manolo González wants his team to recover the consistency that they had at the start of the season at the RCDE Stadium, ahead of their game against CA Osasuna.
"Working hard is the formula to getting back to that. We have lacked effectiveness in both areas in the last two games. The game against Celta that we won was not like that," he told the media on Friday.
“I want to win every week, and for the team to be in a much calmer situation. But we have to keep our feet on the ground, maintain confidence and look for the best possible solution.”
The coach added that “the result against Getafe was not a fair one. And against Barbastro, we didn't play well. We have to go back to being that team that have been good at home and hasve competed. We have to recover that consistency as soon as possible.”
“We knew that the season would be tough, that it would be difficult and that there would be bad moments, but we have to have the necessary mentality to get through it.”
Regarding Osasuna, he emphasised that "they are a club that are doing well. Their success comes from many years of work that has given them stability and makes them an established side in the Primera División."
"We have not made calculations about points. What I want is to get points and to get through this. First we have these two at home, and then the rest. I don't want to look beyond that. We have to try to get the team to reach that level of calm, because we know that our fans are going to help. Our fans were key to our promotion and they will be key in keeping the team going."
