González: "The team are doing better every day"
The coach previews the fixture against Deportivo Alavés
Manolo González expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance over the first few games and also with the level that the new signings can offer, in his pre match press conference before the game against Deportivo Alavés.
The coach assured that "the team are good, doing better every day" and insisted that "we have room for improvement. I always say that, like all the teams in LaLiga do. But I will see that room for improvement by competing. What matters is what happens on the pitch, with the pressure of the result on us."
On opponents Alavés, he mused that "they are a team that get into the opposition area a lot. They have a lot of people in front of the ball. They are a very dynamic, incisive, well-organised side, and it will be a difficult match."
"Winning our most recent game encourages us and strengthens us. All of our home games are vital to us reaching the objective as soon as possible. I give it the importance it requires, because we are playing at home and we have to be strong here. Away from home we have to be able to pick up points, but at home we have to be strong as well, and we have to not care about who the opposition are to get the three points.”
Finally, he recalled that he felt “unhappy” with the first half against Valladolid.
“I was responsible for that, but from then on I have been proud of the team’s response. We have to keep working to be better every day.”
