González: "I have seen more positive things than negative things"
The coach feels his team are prepared for the start of the season
Manolo González talked to journalists after the preseason friendly in Germany against Heidenheim, reflecting on the summer work.
“I have seen more positive things than negative things, except for the result in a friendly match like this. For 75 minutes we saw good things. We had the game under control without them getting too far into our area. We had chances to kill the game off, and even with the score at 2-1 we created opportunities. I am happy with the performance of the players, but we have things to correct because the two goals were avoidable.”
The RCD Espanyol coach also acknowledged that “we have room for improvement, but we have to take into account the level of today's opponents. I think the team competed well and that has helped us to go into the game against Valladolid in better condition.”
Finally, regarding the debuts of two of the club's latest signings, Král and Veliz, he noted that the forward “did not have too many chances in attack, but in terms of his work he was very good. Král will offer us many things. He has personality and a level of fitness that we didn't have in the squad until now."
