González: "I feel that we are capable of getting through this"
The coach talks before the game against Celta Vigo
Manolo González admits that some difficult times have occurred for his side, and highlighted the importance of a return to winning ways. The RCD Espanyol coach said in his press conference ahead of the game against Celta Vigo that “It's bad, because we lost with a very bad showing. I don't need to talk to anyone else about it. The feeling I go home with is enough.”
He stresses that he hopes the team will “become recognisable again” and emphasises that his players “are aware” of the match that awaits.
“I feel that we are capable of getting through it. I have overcome other difficult situations, but coming off a match like the other day affects you, unless you don't care about anything. I hope the team have a good match tomorrow and that we get the three points.”
He also responded that “I hope to be able to fulfil my contract at Espanyol and be able to stay for many years. What concerns me is that the team win and that the club is where it deserves to be.”
“We want to win tomorrow and have a good match to come out with our heads held high. To do this, it is essential to keep a cool head, more than on any other matchday, and to interpret the moments of the match well.”
The coach reiterated that “tomorrow there are three important points that we need for the relegation battle. It is time to win and play a good match. Salvation depends on the results of home games.”
“The players are the first who want to get back on track. In life, the way you face things is what defines you. We have to be able to return home with our heads held high. That is why it is important to recover the identity that we have had until now.”
