García: "This team will fight until the last second of the last match"
The RCD Espanyol coach reacts to the win over Rayo Vallecano
Luis García was effusive in his praise of his team as RCD Espanyol beat Rayo Vallecano on LaLiga Matchday 35 on Sunday, speaking in the post-match press conference.
“The team defended with grit, organisation and desire to win the game. Offensively, when we dared to play as these players know how, we were able to achieve it. What I take away from this game is everyone's hard work," he told the media.
"I saw everybody's excitement. It has been extraordinary to see a dressing room united and wanting to get out of this situation. We on have not achieved anything yet. We have only won one game, but we are closer to the path that we have to be on."
The coach reiterated that “this team are going to fight until the last second of the last game. This Wednesday we have a game at home, in front of our fans. We have to be positive and continue working with humility."
García concluded with recognition of the hard work put in by his players.
“They have suffered and fought to win this game and they deserve it more than anyone. This team have been carved out of receiving very hard blows and coming back from them . We twice took the lead and we defended solidly. We just have to keep working. I am tremendously proud of these players."
