Free subscriptions for members who renew for the 2020-2021 season
Current members who have selected the payment on account option for next season will not have to pay anything
RCD Espanyol has put a series of measures in place so that current members can enjoy a free card for the 2020-2021 season. Firstly, the subscription price has been reduced by 50%. Secondly, following the various estimates of the health authorities, institutions, the competition and the club itself, due to the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is unlikely that fans will be able to watch matches at the RCDE stadium for at least the first half of the season. This is why the subscription price is also discounted by 60%, given that fans won't be able to attend these games in person and they therefore shouldn't have to pay for them. If fans are ultimately able to attend games at the stadium, the club will not collect the difference from its members.
Members who requested compensation for the 19/20 season when renewing for the 20/21 season (more than 90% of the members with a seat), will be able to enjoy their new membership completely free of charge. As explained, the compensation for COVID-19 is 20% of the total 19/20 subscription payment. Subtracting this amount from the final price of the 20/21 subscription means that members - who already have a free membership card - do not have to pay anything. The Club will also take on the differences from the age discounts applied in 2019/2020, since members will be a year older, and therefore have less discount. It will not take on the differences incurred in changing area or category.
Members who opted for other means of compensation such as the gift card for RCDE Stores or purchasing new tickets, the #invitacionsperiques or a refund will have to pay this difference. However, the club has given members until 31st August to choose a compensation option because until now, there were still many question marks about certain things. As such, they preferred to give members the time to make informed decisions once they had information about all the options. Now, given the current situation, the Club is offering the possibility of changing the selection (as long as it has not yet been used) to support those who are interested in no-cost membership renewal.
All of this involves a significant economic commitment from the Club. However, it ensures that members and subscribers can continue their relationship with the Club in a particularly difficult season where unity is key to achieving our objectives. Remember that the membership card, showing your allegiance to the blue and white family, will be sent free of charge to everyone who has been a member in the 19/20 season. This is a way of saying thank you for the ongoing support shown in one of the toughest seasons in the Club's history.
These exceptional measures have been put in place at a time when Espanyol knows that in order to move forwards, it needs the support of its members and subscribers. As such, focusing on subscription renewals has been high on the priority list. Those interested in registering for next season must pay for the membership card (€ 60 Adult and € 45 Child). Finally, as it's still unclear when full-capacity match attendance can resume, new subscribers will pay an advance of €20 as a seat reservation, and when they are able to attend matches at the RCDE Stadium, they will only have to pay the difference based on the tariff in their chosen area.
