Fran Garagarza, new Sporting Director
The Basque takes over at RCD Espanyol after his last spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers
RCD Espanyol has reached an agreement with Fran Garagarza to become Sporting Director.
Garagarza joins the Club to take on this new challenge for the next two seasons and up to four years, subject to the sporting situation, leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers where he served as technical advisor for the Premier League side.
Before his stint with Wolves, Garagarza was at SD Eibar for 14 years, 10 of those as sporting director. He turned the Basque club into a model for its successful transfer policy where good management led to their revaluation and professionalisation.
The Board of Directors chaired by Chen Yansheng believes that Garagarza is the right man to lead the new sporting project that should bring the team back to where they belong, in the top tier of Spanish football.
Welcome to Espanyol and good luck, Fran!
