Farhad Majidi meets Espanyol
Farhad Majidi, a former player of Iran's national team and a reference footballer for Asian football, is getting to meet Espanyol thanks to the club's invitation. The former international, who already saw a match in RCDE Stadium in 2014, is getting to know how youth football works in Dani Jarque's Training Facilities, one of the most recognized academies in the world, and professional football.
The former player will be in Barcelona for a few weeks to visualize, as a guest visitor, trainings of the whole sports structure, and will know the methodology and the system of the youth football as well as the daily routine of the most outstanding teams of the club, including the first team coached by Quique Sánchez Flores. In addition, the well-known footballer will also personally check the organisation and the developement of Espanyol, LaLiga founder and one of the historical teams of reference in the best national competition in the world.
In Europe, Majidi played for Rapid Vienna during the 1999-2000 season, but it was in Asia where he developed most of his career and became a true idol for Middle Eastern football. His training as a football coach has been in London, led by the English Football Federation. It is noteworthy that in his country is an example and currently stands out for his collaborations with social organizations dedicated to integrating and educating children through the values and practice of sport. The club is confident that his visit will also help to expand the reputation of the RCDE brand in West Asia.
