Espanyol opens a RCDE Academy in Iraq
The entity becomes the first foreign club with a training center in the South-West Asian country
Espanyol has reached an agreement to open an RCDE Academy in Iraq. In this way, it becomes the first foreign club to create a training center in the South-West Asian country.
This is a pioneering initiative for youth academies in a territory like Iraq with the most successful methodology and operation, with Espanyol, a benchmark in training, as the first club of an extensive and ambitious project throughout the country.
Iraq is a country with enormous social, sporting and economic possibilities. A land with an extraordinary cultural potential that, in collaboration with Espanyol, aims to develop football talent.
On this matter, the RCDE Academy of Iraq, which will be based in the capital, Baghdad, becomes the sixth academy of club distributed all over the world, after Ajman, Algiers, Japan, New Jersey and HLK. RCD Espanyol de Barcelona solidifies and strengthens its work of international expansion and implementation of the RCDE brand, in this case in the Middle East.
