End of Abelardo's era
The club has decided to remove the Asturian from his responsibilities as first team coach
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona reports that Abelardo Fernández has been removed from his responsibilities as the men's first team coach. The club took this decision as a result of the sports performance of the first team and with the clear will to save the category of the Blue and Whites in the League.
The rest of the technical staff, Tomás Hervás and Iñaki Tejada, also cease their functions.
Abelardo arrived at the parakeet outfit in December 2019 and has been at the command of the team as a Spanish coach in 17 official matches.
RCD Espanyol thanks Abelardo and his coaching staff for their involvement during these months of work and wishes them all personal and professional success.
