1-1: Draw for RCD Espanyol B
Young pericos score early and concede late against Atlético Saguntino
A late equaliser denied RCD Espanyol B all three points against Atlético Saguntino, cancelling out an early goal from Joan Puig in a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
The game could scarcely have started better for the visitors, as Puig took just two minutes to open the scoring. It was his second goal in as many games, and established an almost immediate advantage for the visitors.
With the scoreline against them, Atlético Saguntino began to press high and win the ball back frequently. Their clearest chance came from César Díaz, half an hour into the game, as he sent a shot crashing against the post, but at the interval Espanyol continued to lead.
In the second half Atlético Saguntino came out determined to turn things. Faced with this insistence, Luis Blanco's men withstood an onslaught of opposition who were well supported by the fans in the stands.
A sending off for N'Diaye left the home team down to ten men, but they continued to push and, for the second consecutive matchday, RCD Espanyol B conceded in the dying moments. A goal from Gonzalo in the 89th minute split the points.
Next weekend sees Espanyol back at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque to host Teruel, the leaguer leaders of the Segunda RFEF.
