“We have to know how to play the game”
Manolo González is wary of complacency in the search for three points against FC Andorra
RCD Espanyol coach Manolo González is aware that his team must remain fully focused on the task in Sunday’s game against FC Andorra.
González said, “We are improving every day, I see how the team is growing, happier, confident in moving us forward to return to the top flight, which is where we should be. But we have to know how to play the game. We cannot repeat what happened against Albacete. I think it will be a long game and we will have to mature as we go on”.
Espanyol take on Andorra in a vital match at both ends of the LALIGA HYPERMOTION table; González’s side are looking to break back into the automatic promotion spots, while visitors Andorra are fighting to emerge from the relegation zone.
The head coach, who will serve the first of a two-game touchline ban for his red card away to CD Leganés, continued, “We lack that point of having peace of mind, so if we manage to open the game up quickly it will give us peace of mind and confidence. We will go out to win the game, but it will be complicated”.
“The fans have to push as they are pushing us because we have to win for all of us. It is just as essential to win this match as it is to win against Albacete or Leganés. We have to try to win”.
