Rocket League team debuts in the RLRS with peak viewerships
RCD Espanyol’s debut in the Rocket League Rival Series was a big success in all senses: the team made a huge come back from being 2-0 down against one of the competition favorites, Triple Trouble in a match where viewerships were higher than the average from last season.
The first round included more than 136,000 unique viewers and a peak of more than 41,000 simultaneous viewers for the RCD Espanyol match. This is very positive results for the competition in comparison with last season’s average of 14,446 simultaneous viewers by match.
Rocket League is a growing Esports title and experts say it will keep growing. It was the only video game (alongside Street Fighter) selected for the Tokyo Olympics Intel World Open, which will be played at the Zepp Divercity in the japanese capital from july 22nd to july 24th. Some of the RCD Espanyol players are strong contestants to represent the Spanish national team in this tournament.
