Record plama donation numbers at RCDE Stadium
The club support an initiative that receives a tremendous turnout
A blood and plasma donation appeal at the RCDE Stadium received a record response this Friday, with a total of 436 donors -specifically 176 providing plasma. These numbers set the national record for plasma donation in a one-day campaign carried out outside a health centre.
As a show of gratitude, RCD Espanyol gave the donors invitations to the match against Celta Vigo later this year.
The club's medical director, Narciso Amigó, the director of the plasma self-sufficiency programme, Roser Vallès, and the director of the club's social area, Alberto Ariza, as well as Espanyol board member, Rafa Marañón, praised the high level of participation during the day and highlighted the importance of a prestigious entity like RCD Espanyol supporting these initiatives.
There was also a visit by Antonio Martínez Flor, deputy mayor of Territorial Policy and housing for Cornellà, Cristina Obregón, councillor for Public Health for Sant Adrià, Miriam Chacón, councillor for Children, Youth and Development Cooperation for Sant Adrià and Adrián Jiménez, advisor to the mayor.
Coach Manolo González and players José Gragera, Álvaro Aguado and Sergi Gómez were in attendance at the donation drive.
