RCDE Academy Johannesburg collaborates on event with LaLiga and the Celta Vigo academy
Eight months ago, Espanyol opened a new academy in South Africa, with the intention of creating ties with the country and sharing ideas. In addition, this academy carries out social actions in the community in Johannesburg, where a high percentage of players find themselves without resources, and trains local coaches to provide all possible tools to help with the development of all players. Today, the academy has almost 300 players between the ages of 6 and 18, both male and female.
Recently, with the collaboration of LaLiga, the academies run by Espanyol and Celta Vigo in Johannesburg held a fun day together, in which several friendly matches were played. The local press covered the event, in addition to the live broadcast of the games. The Spanish ambassador to South Africa, Raimundo Robredo, took the honourary kickoff.
