RCD Espanyol sign Álvaro Tejero

The midfielder joins the club as a free agent

RCD Espanyol have signed free agent Álvaro Tejero as the club's first summer transfer market arrival. The midfielder, whose contract with SD Eibar came to an end last month, joins through to June 30th, 2025, with an optional additional year.

Tejero came up through the Real Madrid youth system and debuted for the club in the Copa del Rey, as well as playing one LaLiga game.

A regular starter with Real Madrid-Castilla, he was then loaned out to Albacete Balompié, where he enjoyed a great season. His next destination was SD Eibar, and at the Basque club he was also sent out on loan to Real Zaragoza.

Tejero has played 206 games as a professional and has scored 11 goals.

Having passed his medical on Tuesday at the Clinica Corachan, he will be officially presented when the squad return from the summer break for preseason.
