RCD Espanyol against gender violence
RCD Espanyol renews its firm commitment to eradicating gender violence on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which takes place on Saturday 25th November.
The Club gives its unconditional support to the initiative promoted by the General Secretary of Sport, joining the institutional manifesto to raise awareness and advance in addressing this reality. The entity has the firm determination to end any type of violence and lack of equality between men and women.
The Catalan government calls on all citizens and, in particular, people linked to the world of sports, entities and associations, educational centres, institutions, sports companies, etc., to join this demand for rejection of sexist attitudes and, at the same time, ensure that attacks are identified and reported. We at RCD Espanyol join this call.
With the Manifesto of the world of Sports, promoted by the General Secretary of Sports and Physical Activities, a call is made to professionals and sports entities to join this commitment in which the absolute rejection is claimed and firmly expressed to any type of violence and, especially, that which affects women and their sons and daughters. From sports, we demand zero tolerance towards aggressors and sexist violence and we express our most unanimous and conscious vocal support.
In Saturday’s match between our women’s first team against CD Cacareño, a manifesto provided by the Sant Adrià City Council will be read before the players take to the pitch with a banner demanding zero tolerance towards aggressors. In Sunday’s corresponding match for the men’s first team against AD Alcorcón, the manifesto of the General Secretary of Sports and Physical Activities will be read, attached below.
