RCD Espanyol, with Indonesia
The Indonesian community in Catalonia come together to watch an RCD Espanyol match in Barcelona
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona is proud to be involved in the "Watch Football Together" event with the Indonesian diaspora community in Catalonia, which gives the opportunity to watch a live match at the Stage Front Stadium in Barcelona.
The Club continues to advance its international expansion strategy in Indonesia and working to consolidate the Asian country as one of its priority markets. RCD Espanyol invited 53 community members to the LALIGA Hypermotion match against Levante UD on 4th February, with the opportunity to share a special experience as well as bring together our communities and strengthen this link.
This initiative, organized by the Club, sought not only to share the passion for football, but also to strengthen ties with Indonesia, a fundamental country in the Club's international strategy with a lot of socio-economic potential in a football-loving nation.
Evelyne Triana Suwardi, Head of the Indonesian community in Catalonia, highlighted its importance: “This event not only gives us the opportunity to watch a football match live in a ground as beautiful as Stage Front Stadium, but also to interact, get to know each other and strengthen our ties with the Club”.
Imanuel Kahubung, the main coordinator of the event, expressed his enthusiasm for future collaborations between the Club and the Indonesian community: “We hope to meet again and create unforgettable memories like this, because as the scarves we wear say: 'The best thing about Barcelona is being part of Espanyol’".
The Indonesian pericos enjoyed an unforgettable experience to passionately support the team, as Espanyol won 2-1 with a thrilling last-minute winner. They were able to feel the adrenaline and experience what it is like to be an Espanyol fan at the Stage Front Stadium.
This event not only strengthened the links between the Indonesian community and RCD Espanyol, but also demonstrated the diversity and inclusive spirit of football in Barcelona and the competition. Without a doubt, it was an unforgettable day for all those present and the beginning of many more events with the Indonesian community of Catalonia.
