Oscar Perarnau, new General Sports Director. New board structure and executive club.
The Board of Directors of RCD Espanyol of Barcelona announces the appointment of Òscar Perarnau Figueras (Barcelona, 1974) as the new General Sports Director of the organization. This position, newly created in the executive structure of the organization, will exercise the management of all the sports area, including their coordination under the following departments: Sports Management (1st team and filial male) Men's Soccer, Football schools and Academies RCDE, Women's Soccer, DOR (Department of Optimization and Performance) and Medical Area. All these departments will maintain their executive functions performed by professionals who will report to the new DG Sport. In turn, Òscar Perarnau will report to the Executive Committee and Supervisory Board.
Perarnau, who has a great experience and a vast knowledge of the club, returns to the club to join his new responsibility. The Board of Directors is pleased to have again a valued professional, that considers suitable to exercise leadership in the development of new sports RCD Espanyol project.
On the other hand, the Board of Directors also makes official the renewal of Jordi Lardín Cruz as sporting director for the next three seasons, until June 2020. The former player will be responsible of the first team and the U-23.
