New photovoltaic plants installed at RCDE Stadium
The club collaborate with Tenka Solar on new energy innovations
RCD Espanyol and Tenka Solar have announced the installation of two new photovoltaic plants on the sides of the Stage Front Stadium, adding to those already existing in the areas around the two goals of the stadium.
In total, 1,860 Orion Series VII solar panels of 595 watts will be installed. These panels are designed to maximise the energy efficiency of the stadium, ensuring high performance and reliability over time.
The agreement reached by the club represents a significant advance in the field of renewable energy in the sports sector.
“This collaboration allows us to take another step towards the goal of being 100% energy self-sufficient and increase our eco-sustainability, eliminating the fossil supplies we use in the short term,” said Toni Alegre, deputy general manager of RCD Espanyol, after the agreement was reached.
The installed panels will produce approximately 1.9 GWh of energy per year, which represents an annual saving of around 800 tons of CO2. In addition, the club expect to save around 200,000 euros per year in energy costs, taking into account average energy prices in Spain.
Tenka Solar are renowned for the excellence of their production of high-performance solar panels and for their commitment to finding sustainable solutions. The company have a global presence and are leaders in technological innovation in the field of solar energy.
