Mao Ye comments on recent events
The CEO talks at Barcelona's Sant Jordi celebrations
Mao Ye, CEO of Espanyol, led the institutional representation in the celebration of Barcelona’s Sant Jordi festival, and took the opportunity to speak about current matters at the club.
He acknowledged that President Chen is fully aware of the club's present form, saying that “we listen to the fans. We make decisions coldly at times, that we understand to be the right choices, thinking about the medium and long term.”
"Work at the club has never stopped, and our management is strong. We have the commitment to create an exciting project".
“Our objective is to finish the season in the best possible way. The players are convinced that we will finish much better than we are now and that is the feeling that we want to connect with next season”.
The chief executive officer also commented on the complaints that the club made about the controversy at the Wanda Metropolitano, where a penalty was given by VAR in stoppage time.
“I think that VAR is a good tool and it should serve to get more things right. It is a positive resource, but we must review how it is applied,” he said.
