Luis Miguel Ramis, new RCD Espanyol coach
The Catalan coach takes charge of the men’s first team until the end of the season
RCD Espanyol has reached an agreement with Luis Miguel Ramis to become the new men’s first team coach.
The Catalan from Tarragona has signed until 30th June 2024 and, in the event of promotion back to the first division, a one-year extension will be activated.
Ramis has vast experience both as a professional player and as a coach across Spain. The former centre-back played for the likes of Real Madrid, Sevilla and Deportivo de la Coruña, returning to Real Madrid to begin his managerial career in their youth setup.
After a decade leading the academy teams, Ramis stepped up to senior football when he took over at Almería in 2017. He has since guided two teams to the LALIGA play-offs: first Albacete Balompié in 2019, then Tenerife in 2022, whom he left at the end of last season.
Ramis will be unveiled as the new coach of RCD Espanyol this Monday, 6th November at 13:30 CET in the Juan Segura Palomares auditorium at the Stage Front Stadium.
