Lozano: "We are on the right path"
The captain is convinced that results will come for RCD Espanyol
RCD Espanyol are convinced that positive results will come their way very soon. Pol Lozano, one of the club's captains, expressed this view in a press conference ahead of Saturday's match against Mallorca.
"We have the feeling that we are giving everything and the results are not coming. We are a team for whom our work has to lead to success. That seems far away at the moment due to the results we are getting, but we are on the right path. The Primera División is very tough, and what makes you strong and allows you to take points is that the team are united," he stated.
The academy product pointed out that they have to avoid mistakes, remembering that against Betis "there was a dead ball for us and it ended with a goal against us. We have to be smart and hold on for 90 minutes, because that is what is hurting us. We have to find that balance. The coach insists a lot on this and this idea is something we have to bring to fruition.”
On a personal level, he insisted that he is “in my best sporting form at Espanyol. If we are talking about performance, this has been my best month in the first team. Now everyone in the dressing room is united, eager to play against Mallorca and we want to show that we are capable of giving much more. We are very keen and that is what is important."
Finally, Lozano actively participated today in the ‘Los Pericos no abandonan’ campaign, which will be held again this Saturday before the game against Mallorca. The midfielder completed the press conference accompanied by ‘Mango’, a puppy that he found abandoned.
“I adopted when him when was a baby. He was not even a month old. It is one of the best things that has happened to me in my life. Sometimes, pets have more feelings than people. We have to be aware of this situation because they can become an important part of people's lives."
