Král, Veliz and Cardona officially presented
The trio are unveiled at the RCDE Stadium
“I want to settle in this club. I am not thinking only about staying up but about doing something better, about having a good season and taking the team as high up as possible. When they mentioned that there was the possibility of joining Espanyol, I asked my agents to do their best to get me here. I had the opportunity to speak with the coach and that was the clincher for me. When he explained his tactices to me, it gave me confidence; he told me that he saw me as a point of reference up front and I told him that I was really looking forward to doing my best to help the whole team.”
“For me, this is a legendary club in Spain. I like everything about it: The city, the language... and it was a goal of mine to play for Espanyol,” added Cardona.
"I am a player who likes to help my teammates. I like to score goals, but also to give assists. I can play in all three attacking positions. My first impression has been very good. I am very happy. I hope we have a good year, with many goals and many victories."
For Král,“we have a very long season ahead of us and I hope we have a good campaign. The main objective is to stay up, but we all want the most that we can achieve. The season is very long and we have to go step by step. I have to thank everyone who has helped to make this move happen. It hasn't been easy, but I'm looking forward to starting the first match now."
During the presentation, Mao Ye, CEO of RCD Espanyol, thanked the players for their commitment to come to Espanyol, whilst Sporting Director Fran Garagarza acknowledged that they had been working for some time on the incorporation of these players.
"What stands out about them is their versatility. We have many limitations in the transfer market and it's not easy. We have incorporated five players. We know where we want to go. We are working to see if other players fit in who can help to complete the squad. I wouldn't talk about a single position, or anything concrete, but it's about what we want more than what we already have. We are very satisfied with these five additions and we will see if we can bring in somebody else in these fifteen days that remain in the transfer market."
All three players are available for the LaLiga season opener against Real Valladolid.
