Expósito: "Winning on Saturday would boost everyone's confidence"
The midfielder turns the focus to the game against Real Betis
RCD Espanyol midfielder Edu Expósito has joined the rallying cry to the team, who find themselves in the relegation zone heading into LaLiga Matchday 29.
Speaking on Wednesday, he explained that there is optimism amongst the squad and a conviction that results will come shortly.
"We hope that the new coach will be able to introduce his ideas very quickly. The dressing room is united and we are very motivated," insisted Expósito, who underlined the importance of everybody moving in the same direction.
“What matters is the club and getting out of this situation so that RCD Espanyol remain in the Primera División. We are going to achieve that. We are training with the necessary mentality and soon those victories that will take us up the table will come."
Asked about this weekend's game against Real Betis, the Spaniard remained firm that “we don't have to focus on the opponent but on ourselves and on what we have to do. We will go into Saturday's game with that mentality to take the three points."
"The team are feeling good. We have reached the final stages of games in good shape. We are scoring goals and training to improve. Winning on Saturday would boost everyone's confidence. What we can control is competing to the fullest, and that is what we are going to do to get out of this situation."
