Expósito eyeing comeback
The midfielder is in the closing stages of his recovery
Edu Expósito suffered a serious knee injury in January, and is finally closing in on a return. The midfielder spoke to the media on Wednesday to explain how he is approaching the final stretch of his recovery.
“In all these weeks there are better days and worse days, but I am not a sad person and I do not face problems with pessimism,” he said.
“My feeling is good, and each day I'm a little better. But I have not set a date for myself to be named in the squad. The only thing I want is to be fit when I start competing.”
"It has been many days and many months, but I am closer to my return now. The better things go for the team, the better for me and for my return. The demand will always be great and I will have to take those steps to catch up with my teammates.”
Expósito insists that “I have to take it easy. I am in no hurry. I have learned many things to be a better teammate, a better player... In short, other things that being in the competition doesn't let you see. From the outside, the team look very good. We have gained identity. The coach has a clear idea and the players are carrying it out strictly."
