Diego Martínez: "A good result is an important reinforcement for us"

The coach praises his side after their Copa del Rey win against Celta

RCD Espanyol coach Diego Martínez gave a very positive assessment of the victory against Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey Round of 32, which required two goals in extra time from his side.

Espanyol overcame their LaLiga opposition 3-1 thanks to goals from Javi Puado, Sergi Darder and Nico Melamed, booking their place in the round of 16. Speaking in his post-match press conference at the RCDE Stadium, the coach was clearly delighted with the win.

Martínez said, "We don't base everything on results, but rather our feelings and processes. However, a good result is an important reinforcement for us. He continued, "Everything takes a lot of effort and we still have many needs to cover, but we are going to focus on the present and the team gave everything they had.
