Calero: "Last year we made our stadium a fortress"
The defender previews the match against Rayo Vallecano
After taking a draw at Balaídos in their season opener, RCD Espanyol play their first game at the RCDE Stadium this term in search of victory against Rayo Vallecano.
Fernando Calero chatted to the media on Wednesday about the Friday night fixture, and stated that "We are confident about picking up the three points in out first game in front of our fans. Last year we made our stadium a fortress, gained quite a few points there, and we want to continue in that way. We want to be a team that the fans like and who give everything during the entire 90 minutes."
Talking about Rayo, he commented that "our last few results in LaLiga against them have been negative, but I also remember that those games were very evenly matched and were decided by details."
"They are a very intense team who use high, effective pressure , and we will have to be at our best version so that they have problems defending against us."
