Calero: “We’re looking forward to compete again”
Defender speaks ahead of Valencia CF clash
Fernando Calero spoke ahead of RCD Espanyol’s game against Valencia CF on Sunday.
Espanyol return to action following the international break, which the defender recognised as an opportunity for the squad to recharge their batteries ahead of an important action-packed month before the World Cup.
Speaking to Espanyol Media, Calero said, “This week have come in handy to prepare for the next game, to correct the mistakes we have previously made and for teammates who had slight injury problems to return to full fitness. We are really looking forward to competing again.”
Espanyol face Valencia at the RCDE Stadium this weekend, as they look to get their first home win of the season.
Calero said, “They are a dangerous team and a tough one to play against. They have fast, direct players, and we must be careful with those counter-attacks and not to make mistakes. If we do that, we will get the victory.”
He added, “We really want to get the first home win of the season. We want this home game to result in goals and three points, which is the most important thing. At at the end of the day, it’s a good game and a good game to get it.”
