Braithwaite ends regular season as league's top scorer
The striker racked up 22 goals over the 42-game term
Martin Braithwaite finished the regular season with 22 goals, making him the top scorer in the Segunda División.
It is the Danish striker's best scoring tally to date for the club, and the season saw him find the net on 9 occasions in the first half of the season, followed by 13 in the second.
Braithwaite broke his LaLiga Hypermotion duck early by scoring against Racing Santander on Matchday 2. His goals were spread out over a total of 16 games, in which RCD Espanyol only failed to pick up points against CD Eldense.
Fellow striker Javi Puado also deserves a special mention, as this season he scored a personal record of 13 goals in the league.
