Borja Iglesias, new Espanyol’s striker

The Galician footballer, who has rejected important offers from other clubs, signs for four seasons

RCD Espanyol and R. C. Celta de Vigo have closed the transfer of striker Borja Iglesias Quinta (Santiago de Compostela-Coruña, 17-01-1993). The blue and white club will pay ten million euros for the Galician attacker, who will sign for four seasons and have a termination  clause of 28 million euros.

The great season of Borja Iglesias with R. Zaragoza, where he played on loan last season, has aroused the interest of many First Division clubs and other leagues. Borja is known for being a great scorer. The footballer has opted for the proposal of RCD Espanyol despite the important offers he has received.

Borja, who came to debut in the First Division for the 2014-2015 season against Sevilla, managed 23 goals in the 43 official matches he played last season. With Celta he scored 73 goals in 144 league games. A young forward with a huge projection that joins Sergio García, Leo Baptistao and Álvaro Vázquez.

Borja must overcome the relevant medical review to make effective and official his signing that will take place this Tuesday at the Corachán Clinic in Barcelona. Assuming he passes the medical tests, the player will be presented on Wednesday at the RCDE Stadium, at 12 noon. Fans can enter the stadium through door 21 to welcome the new player.
