Espanyol wins an exciting game against Rayo Vallecano
Espanyol has obtained three important points after defeating Rayo Vallecano in a good match of the white and blue team with a lot of opportunities and minutes of suffer. Galca’s team scored the first goal early thanks to Abraham and had many chances to add another goal to the score. However, Bebé, in the first throw of the visitants, equalized the game. Hopefully, Hernán Pérez appeared to put in the net one of the best goals of the season.
Galca decides to play again with three midfielders: Abraham, Víctor Sánchez and Diop. Rubén Duarte came back to the team after few games and Burgui and Moreno in the front with Asensio. Espanyol started playing very well and soon had good chances to score. Duarte was the first to try and a few minutes after the referee didn’t saw a penalty in the visitant’s box. Finally, the locals had their prize when Abraham score the first goal of the game.
Espanyol seem to be comfortable on the field. Galca’s players didn’t leave Rayo to start playing from behind ant they showed a great concentration in defense. In attack, Burgui had a clear option to score and so Víctor Sánchez with a reat shot that Yoel refused to corner. Espanyol arrived to the half time winning and showing a good football.
Espanyol started again very well. The white and blue team had many chances to score more goals. Burgui and Abraham tried again but was Espanyol’s number 9 who had the best opportunity. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to score when he only had to beat Yoel. Gerard, after a great individual action, and Asesnsio again were close to score. Espanyol was dominating his opponent.
However, when Espanyol was playing better, Rayo equalized the game. Bebé, in the first throw of the visitant team, put the draw on the score. Incredible. Galca moved the bench and Caicedo and Roco came in the field. Espanyol didn’t feel as comfortable and suffered during a few minutes until Hernán Pérez caught a loose ball to score one of the goals of the season.
Suffer didn’t end with the goal. The referee booked for the second time Víctor Sánchez and Espanyol finished the match playing with ten men only. It was difficult but in the end the team won the match and obtained three very important points.
