2024/25 kits unveiled
The garments go on sale from this week
RCD Espanyol and Kelme Sports have presented the three kits the club will use in the 2024/25 season. The three different kits all boast historical references to both the RCDE Stadium and to our city: Barcelona. The goalkeeper jerseys also continue to maintain the scapular, short-sleeved design present in recent campaigns
Home kit: Tradition and history
The home shirt for the 2024/25 season evokes a strong reminiscence of some of the previous garments used throughout the club's history. This design, characterised by narrower stripes, is inspired by the shirt used between 1959 and 1966. During that period, RCD Espanyol experienced memorable moments that live long in the memory.
The blue and white kit of that time was used for the first promotion campaign, after a year in the Segunda Division, as well as welcoming the arrival of extraordinary legends such as Ladislao Kubala and Alfredo Di Stefano. Many key figures of 'Espanyolismo,' such as Argilés, Rodilla and José María, all wore the shirt.
Furthermore, this season, coinciding with the fifteenth anniversary of our stadium, a special detail has been added: Triangular designs on the lower part of the shirt that evoke the architectural structure of the stadium. This touch not only enriches the aesthetic, but also connects the apparel with the recent history of the club.
Away and third kits: A tribute to Barcelona, the city where the club was founded
Both the away and third shirts for the 2024/25 season are deeply influenced by our city, Barcelona, and to this end they incorporate, on the sleeves, the emblematic design of the 'panot' (the concrete tile with the drawing of the 'Flower of Barcelona' used on numerous pavements throughout the city). These shirts thus add a symbol that has become, over the years, iconic to Barcelona.
The away shirt boasts an elegant purple colour, predominant throughout the garment. This tone not only adds a touch of sophistication, but also seeks to convey values of sensitivity, delicacy and elegance. Purple is a colour associated with nobility and creativity, reflecting the ambition and innovative spirit of the club.
The third shirt uses grey as the predominant colour. This design is intended to convey humility and confidence, values that are inherent to RCD Espanyol both on and off the pitch. Grey, combined with the club's traditional colours in the central part of the shirt, offers an image of strength and balance.
Goalkeeper jersey: A tribute to a legend
The goalkeeper jersey for this season continues to pay homage to the design memorably worn by Ricardo Zamora. More reminiscent of the original than ever, this shirt not only honours the history of the club, but also that of the legendary goalkeeper who is part of Spanish football folklore. The design, which was reissued in the 1950s, extends towards the back and incorporates stripes at the bottom of the shirt. This historical touch connects current players with our legends of the past, creating a bond between generations. In addition, the goalkeeper jersey, for the first time in history, will be available with short sleeves in each and every colour variant used throughout the season.
The new shirts will go on pre-sale on our website starting this Tuesday and, starting Monday, they will be available both in the RCDE Store at the RCDE Stadium and the RCDE Store in Balmes.
