15 years without Dani Jarque

Fans and club representatives commemorate the anniversary

August 8th will be always be an emblematic day for the Espanyol family. In 2009, our captain Dani Jarque suddenly and shockingly passed away. Now, 15 years after his tragic death, his memory is still present in the minds of all those who are part of RCD Espanyol.

As has happened over the last few years, the RCDE Stadium received the visit of hundreds of Espanyol fans who wanted to pay their own tribute to Dani Jarque on the anniversary of that fateful day. At the statue of the player, just in front of Gate 21, fans left mementos and observed a minute of silence.

The institutional event was attended by the CEO of RCD Espanyol, Maoy Ye Wu, the representative of Institutional Sports Relations, Joan Capdevila, sporting director, Fran Garagarza, director of the social area, Alberto Ariza, ambassadors Raúl Longhi, Roni Blanch and Dolors Ribalta, patron of the Foundation, Emilio Álvarez, representatives of the FCPE, the squad and the coaching staff of the first team of RCD Espanyol, the family of Dani Jarque, and his agent, Xavier 'Màgic' Díaz, amongst others.

Dani Jarque will remain forever in our memory as an eternal captain and a symbol of the club.
