“We have to focus on the objective”
Javi Puado reaffirms the team's awareness and focus on getting back to the first division
Back on the pitch and clear of the team’s objective, Javi Puado reflected on the current situation ahead of the match against Mirandés this weekend.
RCD Espanyol are at the Stage Front Stadium this Saturday as they look to avenge themselves for the away defeat to Real Racing Club, while building on their strong home form in front of the white-and-blue fans.
Puado said, “Every day we look into each other's eyes and even more so after a defeat. We are very aware of what we and the Club are risking to return to the first tier. We are aware of the effort that the fans make and we are not happy, because we are not reaching the level we want to. We look each other in the eyes, we tell each other things and we have in mind, every day, the objective which is to get promoted”.
The co-captain was sidelined for two weeks but made his return off the bench last time out, telling the media that he is fully fit and ready to return to the starting XI.
He continued, “The team is not reciprocating the support from the stands, and it is important for us to have them close. We play to win and for them to be happy. I just hope we get the three points, which is the most important thing. We work every day looking for victories and to achieve the objective, which is very clear. Getting promoted is vital for us, the club and the fans”.
Puado concluded, “When someone misses a chance or we make unforced errors, it is not the coach's fault but the player's. The most important thing is to get the best version of each one of us, and that way it will be easier to get three points every time”.
