“The aim is always to win”
Leandro Cabrera has his sight set on victory when the team travel to SD Eibar on Saturday
Leandro Cabrera acknowledges that, while the team have been excellent at home, their away form must improve ahead of the trip to SD Eibar on Saturday.
RCD Espanyol have the best home form in the second tier but have struggled on the road, and next up is a visit to Ipurúa to face the side ahead of them by two points.
Cabrera said, “With the level we show at home, we are a difficult opponent for anyone. We will try to take this level away from home; Eibar are very strong at home, just like us. We are struggling to find the key in away games, but we must stay aware, consistent and keep working hard. The aim is to go there and win”.
Eibar and Espanyol are second and third respectively in LALIGA Hypermotion, where the Mágico know that a win on the weekend would see them overtake their promotion rivals into second. It is a crucial clash for Luis Miguel Ramis’ men in their pursuit of automatic promotion, against a direct rival no less.
Cabrera continued, “I do not accept a draw, we want the win. In the reverse fixture, victory escaped us in the last minute”, referring to the 2-2 draw at the Stage Front Stadium back in November.
“The aim is always to win, always compete and always give our best version. A victory would be a massive boost for us, and we are here to return the team to the first tier. Winning consecutive games would put us very high in the table, so we recognise the importance of these three points”.
