“Points are the most important”
Gerard Moreno said that the team faces next match against Sporting de Gijón “with additional optimism” after the last victory
After defeating Deportivo de la Coruña, RCD Espanyol has started to prepare next match against Sporting de Gijón (El Molinón, 18:15h). Gerard Moreno said that after winning “everybody is happier. You face the next match with more optimism and, specially, it is important the confidence that the team can have after a victory. This victory allow us to face next match with much more confidence”.
Gerard said as his teammates and the manager, Constantin Galca, that “the most important thing now is winning points. We try to our best as our manager asks us and we are interested in winning Sporting”. Gerard said that “we know that Saturday’s match is crucial. We must try to win because is a direct rival that is near in the table. We want to keep gaining confidence, AS we have two matches at home very important and if we defeat Sporting, we can afford them with a lot of confidence. If we are all united, we are stronger”.
The striker said that “the next four matches are very important. We have to win the first and face the next two in our ground. We are facing direct rivals and it can be a month in which we can define where we will be and we don’t want to suffer”.
